It appears anecdotal evidence that low interest rates are bringing homebuyers back into the home buying market now has a solid basis of evidence. "The National Association of Realtors said Wednesday its seasonally adjusted index of pending sales for previously owned homes for December rose 6.3%..." (AP Newswire). In my own San Antonio real estate business and with other Realtors and homebuilders I talk to the consensus is that more buyers are looking for homes to purchase and are taking advantage of historically low mortgage rates. And with San Antonio homes inventory holding steady (as opposed to increasing) and the traditional Spring/Summer buying season just around the corner we may finally begin to see a reduction in inventory of unsold homes leading to a more stable market. That's good for everybody.
